Ammo aka J-Re was born in Haiti, raised by two young parents. Before Ammo was born his father played professional soccer in Haiti but put this aside to raise his family. Hoping for a for a better future they moved to Ottawa, Canada in 1999. Becoming a member of the large Hatian community in Ottawa his father was well recognized as a soccer player from Haiti. Growing up with this influence Ammo built a competitive drive and became interested in competitive sports. He was naturally good at many sports but gravitated toward basketball. He dreamed of playing professional basketball and had the talent to do it, but with the unfortunate passing of his mother in 2004, basketball no longer interested him. Music became a form of expression and a way to relate to people. He continued to play basketball and finished high school winning championships and provincials, but his dream of playing professionally ended when he graduated high school in 2009.

On a broken down computer Ammo started to create music, mixing beats and writing lyrics with a new focus of one day building a career doing something he loved. After meeting J Creole and showing him the music he created on that broken down computer, he saw a potential in Ammo and encouraged him to move forward with his dream and signed him to S.A.C. Ent.

At 20 years old, he is an up-and-coming talent that is pushing to have his dreams realized and his voice heard. With his determination, talent, and dedication to perfecting his art, the sky is definitely the limit for this young man.
